Company objectives
Healthcare systems are shifting from a fee-for-service, activity-focused model towards a model based on outcomes and the cost to deliver those outcomes. Our main focus was to create a system of work that enable care teams and patients by setting up two clear goals:
- Design a system of work SAAS that enable care teams and patients to coordinate care delivery successfully, across the full continuum of care.
- Validate if building a self-serve system of work, that will lead to better outcomes for patients at a lower cost for society, will accelerate adoption of Awell Studio and accelerate the rate of expansion of the whole platform.
Product Design impact and outcomes
Except a short prior collaboration with a design agency, I was the company’s only and first internal designer. We designed this product from scratch on the foundations of a scalable SAAS product, but also, I’ve contributed with the following:
- Initial explorations and solutions definitions to an unchartered SAAS space.
- Qualitative and Quantitive confirmations received from our users, that saw improvements in our product after each iterative cycle, and therefore, the company objectives are on tracks.
- Helped to create a process of work based on keeping everyone in the company on the same page.
- Hand-over process that brought clarity to the development team on the new features that were released.
- Created versatile design system used for scaling in consistent way.
- Helped the marketing department create their initial visual identity and voice.
- Design and build the company website and implement the necessary tools to help us keep-in touch, measure visitors interest and detect and respond to their problems.

Although they have been through numerous iterations you can see the difficulty of the product and how we managed to create a scalable SAAS product in a short time but also build a cross-functional team and a lean process set-up for succes.
